Barcelona BioEconomy Forum is a policy-oriented but science-based solution-seeking platform, bringing together top-level company leaders with policy makers, scientists and other opinion leaders: blue-sky thinking firmly rooted in reality.

Barcelona BioEco 2014 is the first event in a series of biennial global forums on sustainable economic development derived from a wide variety of forest-based renewable resources and ecosystem services. The focus is on the challenges of the Mediterranean area and Southern Hemisphere – with strong global connections.

Alessandro Galli, Global Footprint Network's Mediterranean and MENA Regions Director, will speak on the first day of the Forum.

The so-called green economy will be the main topic for the Global Eco Forum 2014, an international meeting place for decision makers, opinion leaders and change agents, organized by the associations eco-union and Ascame, and hosted for the first time by the Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders. This seventh edition will extend the debate on the critical topics of Green finance and Natural Resources Management, at the core of our economic and social development.

Alessandro Galli, Global Footprint Network's Mediterranean and MENA Regions Director, will speak at The Resource, Energy and Water Dialogue session that aims to answer: In the climate change era with insecure access to water, energy and raw materials, how do we promote the sustainable use of natural resources in our territories and industries without harming the economic and social development of the region?
