First National Resource Forum

The First National Resources Forum will include discussions with Governor Wilfried Haslauer, tungsten Tertschnig, Head BMLFUW, Municipalities President Helmut Mödlhammer and Martin Vogt from VDI center resource efficiency on resource and material efficiency in companies, resource management in municipalities and regions and the European and national resources policy.

Dr. Mathis Wackernagel, president of Global Footprint Network, will be giving the keynote address on the growing influence of the resource factor in economic success of the 21st century.

Dr. Mathis Wackernagel, president of Global Footprint Network, will speak on the Living Planet Report 2014 and Ecological Footprint accounting. The Living Planet Report is the world’s leading, science-based analysis of the health of our planet and the impact of human activity, and was published in September 2014 by Global Footprint Network, WWF and the Zoological Society of London. Dr. Wackernagel is co-creator of the Ecological Footprint and has worked on sustainability on six continents and lectured at more than 100 universities. His awards include the 2013 Prix Nature Swisscanto, the 2012 Blue Planet Prize, the 2012 Binding Prize for Environmental Conservation, the 2011 Zayed International Prize for the Environment, a 2007 Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, a 2006 WWF Award for Conservation Merit and the 2005 Herman Daly Award of the U.S. Society for Ecological Economics.
