Communications/Social Media Intern (Oakland)
Are you interested in participating in two high-profile media campaigns this summer – one global and one in the United States? Global Footprint Network is seeking a communications/social media intern to help us this summer with the launch a new national media campaign in the United States followed by our ninth annual global Earth Overshoot Day campaign with World Wildlife Fund, which attracts media attention around the world. Both campaigns will provide invaluable experience in marketing, communications, writing and media relations, while also providing the opportunity to make a difference in protecting our planet’s fragile environment.
Global Footprint Network is an international think tank that provides Ecological Footprint accounting tools to drive informed policy decisions in a resource-constrained world. We work with local and national governments, investors, and opinion leaders to ensure all people live well, within the means of nature.
Recent graduates with a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field as well as advanced undergraduate students are encouraged to apply. Candidates with degrees in the environment or natural resources and strong writing and communications experience are also encouraged to apply.
Depending on skills and interests, intern projects may include:
- Writing blog posts, Q&As and press releases about our latest research and reports;
- Developing creative, new social media campaigns and writing social media posts;
- Assisting with website updates and redesign, newsletters, and media outreach;
